Seeds

If you saw me at another local church this morning, don't worry! I'm not changing churches. :-) A few months ago Carter's best friend Caitlynn gave us a CD of scripture set to music. It's called Seeds of Courage, and our whole family loves it! Each CD you buy actually comes with 2 CDs of the same music, one to keep and one to give away. I've seen them in our church bookstore for $9.99, which is a great deal! Anyway...Seeds was in Tyler this morning, so the kids and I went. (Justin had to stay at our church, of course.) It was really great, and we all enjoyed it. You can visit the Seeds website here. Each song is actual Scripture, word for word. The website has downloadable Scripture memory cards that you can print for each song they sing.

Like I said, our whole family really likes the music--kids and adults! Our kids studied Jeremiah in Sunday School last week, and London came home saying she talked about Jeremiah, just like her song Jeremiah. The first song on the Seeds of Courage CD is Jeremiah 33:3: "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." London calls it the 'call to me' song.

Anyway, I would recommend these CDs (there are several) to any family!

A Walk to the Park

We live near some ball fields and a playground, so this morning we decided to walk there. Carter had a great time looking for acorns, and London and Carter both had fun on the playground equipment. Marley enjoyed the ride too! When we got there we realized our camera batteries were dead, but I got a few pictures with my phone.

Happy Friday!

Last night

I know you're all just sitting at your computers waiting to hear how my night went last night! It was a lot better actually. I heard Marley making some noise one time and went in and gave her pacifier to her, and she went right back to sleep. We put her to sleep with her head on one side of the crib and when I went in that time her head was on the other side of the crib--she had completely moved herself while staying swaddled! She did have her arms out (which is how she started), but her legs and body were still in. Then this morning she was on her tummy asleep! So she's definitely able to get how she wants to be, which means she doesn't need me to go in there and help her every night!

And now, since I got a negative comment from my sister for posting without a picture yesterday, here are a few pictures of my cute kiddos!

As a side note, I LOVE this nursing pillow. You can find them at Babies R Us. The name of it is My Brest Friend--that's really what it's called!

4 months old

Marley was 4 months old on Sunday. She has started to go to bed earlier, and since she's in our room in the pack n play, we have been waking her up (unintentionally) when we go in our room to go to bed. So last night we decided to put her in her own room in her crib. :(

We had been sleeping with our closet light on so that I could see her when I looked over at her, but last night we didn't have to since she wasn't in there. So the only comment Justin made about her not being in there was, "Ah...darkness!" Apparently the closet light had been bothering his sleep. He rolled over and was snoring within seconds.

I, on the other hand, laid there and missed her. My last baby wasn't in my room anymore! I was sad. However, that didn't last too long because apparently she missed me too. I was in and out of bed all night feeding her and giving her paci back to her. She usually sleeps through the whole night without needing anything! So where will she sleep tonight? That's still to be determined.

Red

I've always just LOVED LOVED LOVED my girls in red. I think it looks so good on them. So when I saw Hannah in this dress on Shelly's blog, I just had to borrow it for Marley. Here are some pictures of her in it. Don't you agree that it is definitely her color?

Here is Marley with her daddy. I thought this one with just her eyes sticking out over his head was adorable, but he wanted one with her whole face showing too (which is also precious!).

And since I haven't posted any of them together in awhile, here are Hannah and Marley. We watched her Saturday night so that Wes and Shelly could go on a big date...or at least out to dinner for an hour. :-)

Holiday!

Did you have a fun Labor Day weekend? We did! Friday morning we went to a pond to feed the ducks. They definitely knew what we were there for, because they came right over to us as soon as we walked up. Carter and London were a little nervous at first because the ducks were so aggressive, but they ended up having a lot of fun. We fed them hot dog buns, hamburger buns, and tortillas! Apparently the ducks aren't picky.

After that we headed to McDonald's, at the kids' request of course. They had so much fun on the playground, and they enjoyed their nuggets and fries as always. We headed home to take naps and eat supper. While we were eating, the kids asked if we could go to Chuck E. Cheese. Of course we had already done all that other fun kid stuff, but...why not? We already had a cup of tokens and we had already eaten, so we thought we might as well go have some free fun! We have never been on a Friday evening, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Last night we left Marley with a babysitter and headed to the CIRCUS! Our kids loved it. When we go somewhere fun, like to see Thomas the Train or to a Rangers game, Carter doesn't usually say much about what's going on. He doesn't act really excited or anything, he just kind of observes. Then later, after we leave or the next day, he talks about it like it was the best thing he's ever done. We always think this is funny about him. But last night...as soon as the elephants finished, Carter was right in front of my seat telling me all about them! He couldn't believe that elephants could do tricks like that. He talked about it the entire way home and until he went to bed last night. We're so glad he finally decided he enjoyed something WHILE it was happening!
London's favorite part of the circus was the pony ride. She loved it!

Three of my kiddos sharing popcorn at the circus :-)

Marley had a big weekend too. She used her Bumbo tray for the first time. We didn't have one of these for London, but Marley seemed to enjoy it.

We also moved Marley out of her bassinet this weekend. She's still sleeping in our room in the pack n play, but she was outgrowing the bassinet and needed a change. I'm sad to put up the bassinet for the last time. That same bassinet has been used for 6 grandchildren on Justin's side of the family. I guess it will be stored in our attic until it's time to pass it on for grandchild #7! (Just to clarify, we don't plan on that grandchild coming from us!!)

I hope you had as much fun as we did this weekend!

Weekend

We had a great weekend. We went to our friends' rehearsal, dinner, and wedding. It was a lot of fun, and we got to see some people we haven't seen in a long time. Justin did part of the ceremony and he did an excellent job, as always.

After the wedding we went out to dinner at Shogun's for my parents' anniversary. London wasn't too sure about the whole thing. We ended up having to take her away from the table while they were doing the fire, and at first she was asking to go home over and over. Of course when we left she said, "I like that place. I like the fire." Silly girl! Carter really enjoyed it this time. He used to be just like London when he was younger, but he wasn't scared this time. Here is London telling me all about how much she liked it (after the cook had left the table, of course!).

I guess that's it for now, since I've been working on this post for a few days and this is as far as I've gotten! :-) Better go ahead and post it since the weekend starts again tomorrow!
