Free Stuff

Now don't get your hopes up here! I am giving away free stuff, but it's free USED stuff that I don't need anymore. Some of my friends, like Mandy and Carrie, have real giveaways on their blogs, but this isn't one of those! :-) I won't be using a random number generator or anything like that...if you want something that is pictured here, either e-mail me, call me, or comment on this post, and if I still have it, it's yours! To the relatives who gave us some of these things: We have loved all of them, but we're making room for new toys and just want to give these to someone else who can use them. To everyone: Don't tell my kids I'm giving these things away! :-)

This is Scoop, I think from Bob the Builder. He doesn't roll or anything, he's just a carrying case for cars. A lot of the Matchbox or Hot Wheels cars will fit inside.

We got new bedroom lamps for Christmas and these are our old ones. They actually look a lot better than this--Justin said I should have displayed them better for the picture. Who has time when you're trying to take quick pictures in the cold garage while your baby takes a nap?!

This is a Hot Wheels car wash. The water part never worked, but it's still fun!

An Eventful Week

We had some eventful days this week. On Wednesday, a good friend who lives out of town came over to visit for awhile. It was great catching up with her! I would give you her blog address so that you could check out her blog, but she hasn't updated it since March 2nd! Time to update, Kristie! :-) After she left, Justin came home to watch the girls so that Carter and I could go on a lunch date. We went to the new Whataburger with all the Hot Wheels cars, and he loved it. He was such a gentleman, too. His daddy gave him some tips about how a man should act on a date, and he really listened! He gave me a flower, held the door open for me, and offered to pray before we ate. Such a sweet, sweet boy! I forgot to take a picture that day, but here is one of us from his choir program last month:

Wednesday evening we had children's choir, and while we were there the tornado sirens went off! What an adventure! There were so many children that needed to be moved down to the basement, and then we were there for an hour. Thankfully I was able to have all 3 of my kiddos with me after making sure my class was safe and sound. They did great and London even cried when it was time to leave, because she wanted to stay longer!

Thursday morning I packed so that we could go see my mom for her birthday. She was turning 55 that day, so Shelly, Hannah, Carter, London, Marley and I all piled into our van and drove 4 hours to see her! Marley is into everything and puts everything in her mouth, so it was hard to pack while she was awake. But letting her sit in the suitcase helped for a little while!

I think my mom had a great birthday having all of her grandbabies there to celebrate with her.

I think most of you know that she has been sick and in the hospital for awhile, but she's getting better slowly but surely. We were so glad to see her!

On Friday while my mom rested, I brought Carter and London to a park. Right next to the park is the public library. I loved that library when I was growing up, and they both love going to the library, so I asked if they wanted to see it. They loved it just like I used to. They wanted to sit there and have story time, so I read them several stories.

It was a fun time, but we're glad to be home and back to the normal routine!

London

Today's post is all about our middle child and oldest daughter. She is just so funny and cute these days, even though she's still her usual stubborn self too. My favorite age with Carter was from when he turned 2 until he turned 3, but I think I've had more fun and laughed more at London since she turned 3. (I'm still loving every age as we get to them, I just love that age when they're learning to really talk and express themselves and say the funniest things.)

We always check on the kids before we get in bed at night, and a lot of times we laugh because their legs are hanging off of their beds or something. But Justin went to check on London the other night and this is what he found:

She had fallen asleep with this book on her face! We were cracking up. He even took 3 pictures of her with the flash on and she never moved. So funny! (And Charlotte, if you're reading this, that's a blanket you monogrammed for London when she was a baby...she still loves it!)

I was looking through the pictures on our camera the other day and I saw this one of her that Justin had taken. He said he saw her sitting like that and it just looked like she was ready for her picture to be taken!

And then the other night I was thinking about how much fun it is to have a little girl (or two!), and I realized that London and I had never really played "beauty shop" together. At first she wasn't too excited about the idea, since she knew that the curling iron was hot, but then she agreed. I put the sides of her hair up in a clip and she said, "I LOOK LIKE A GROWNUP!" She was so excited. Then I curled a side piece, and when it came out of the curling iron...I wish I would have been videoing...she said, "I am a real princess!" Priceless. We always tell her that she is a real princess because she is a daughter of the King.

I curled her hair and put some blush and lipstick on her. You should have seen how happy she was! Justin was at church so I sent him a picture of her on his phone. He showed it to a few people and one of his former interns (he's probably about 21 years old) said, "Justin, as the patriarch of your family, you have to shut that down now!" Don't worry, Aaron, we're not going to let her out of the house like this until she's about 30. :-)

Yesterday on the shuttle at church, she said to me, "Mommy, I love you so, so, so much." My sweet London girl, I love you so, so, so much, too!

I've gotten lazy with my blogging since I've started putting together the PCM blog--on that one, someone else writes the text AND takes the pictures AND saves them to my computer for me. Then I just plug it all in and publish it. You think Justin would do all the text and picture taking for me for this blog? :-)

All of these pictures were taken at someone's home in the Port Arthur area. They decorate every year--their front and back yards! I used to love going when I was in high school and now I love taking my kids even more.
